Once accepted into the program each client will be assigned temporary housing based on gender and marital status until their Phase 1 program is completed. Phase 1 is a 12-month rehabilitation process. The facility is equipped to house 400 single men, 400 single women, and 200 couples.
The Entry Assessment consists of filling out a pre-admittance questionnaire that details the client’s primary information and background. We will also address the immediate needs of the individual(s) such as food, clothing, and personal hygiene.
Each client is assigned a Social Service Coordinator that will guide them in obtaining the necessary assistance and benefits through the many federal, state, and local programs available. GOD’S HOUSE will serve three (3) meals daily, including snacks throughout the day therefore, there is no need for SNAP assistance and any client enrolled in the Snap program will be immediately removed.
One of the major social plagues of the homeless community is substance abuse. GOD’S HOUSE has implemented an extensive drug assessment program. We don’t just test for illegal drugs, we also test for the drugs designed to block the detection of illegal drugs. Counseling sessions are available to help those in need that they may learn how to coping with drug cravings. Teaching them ways to avoid drugs and prevent relapse, as well as help individuals, deal with relapse if it occurs so that they may enjoy a healthier more productive way of life.
We offer and encourage all clients that have not obtained a high school diploma to enroll in our GED course to better their chances for employment and a greater quality of life.
At GOD’S HOUSE, we encourages entrepreneurship as a form of increasing independence and economic growth within the community. We have counselors that help to develop business plans, complete legal forms, and aid in accruing funding (if qualified) for clients to start their own business. Our computer classes will be held onsite by certified instructors in basic and advanced computer skills. Vocational and Technical training will be provided through local institutions..
The overall goal of the GOD’S HOUSE system is to train and assist those in need with sustainable employment to become productive, self-dependent members of our community. We conduct mock interviews for job-seeking clients that instruct them in proper etiquette, attire, and attitude to seek and secure the jobs they desire and qualify for. We find the jobs that each individual is qualified for and schedule the interviews. Many of the jobs are pre-screened for immediate employment to those coming out of our training programs.
Everyone deserves a 2nd chance at a productive life. This program is designed to help the individuals incarcerated, yet eligible for parole or probation but do not have a physical address to be paroled to. GOD’S HOUSE will accept inmates convicted of non-violent crimes into our program to help them establish a new start in life.
